Four Days In

Day Uno:

I arrived at the Newark, NJ airport a few minutes after 11 o'clock on Monday morning. After waiting outside for my ride (forever- Thanks Matt!) , I arrived at my place of residence: West Orange, New Jersey. Living with parents is sweet. Dinner at night, coffee in the morning, and a stocked fridge always accessible. First things first, I had to try pizza. Matt and I went to Godfather's in Livingston? and I had never seen such big slices. I was going to order one slice, but Matt ordered 3 and my competitive nature compelled me to have a 2nd slice. That night, we met up with the lovely Mallory in South Orange at Gaslight. Gaslight's a little brewery right by the train station. Matt and I split the Wurst Plate and Beer Cheese Soup. It wasn't the "wurst" thing I've had but nothing spectacular. (Wurst-haha) Nice atmosphere though. By the time we got home, my hour of sleep the previous night caught up to me and I quickly passed out....

Day Dos:

My second day was spent chillaxin. I left the house once to go to the deli/store up the street to get some hot dog buns. Exciting! I did accomplish a couple things- applied for jobs at The Manor (upscale restaurant) and the UN (secretary job). I also got to meet Grandma and cousin Larry. That was fun! The highlight for me was explaining the difference between dikes and lesbians to Grandma. (She asked!)

Day Tres:

Yesterday was fun. Matt and I drove into Brooklyn to meet Larry, and we all went to Coney Island. We walked the boardwalk, rode the Wonder Wheel and the Cyclone roller coaster, and had a Nathan's Original hot dog. The hot dog was delicious by the way. Then, we went to the aquarium. It was my first and I loved it! There was so much to see. I do have to apologize to Matt and Larry for missing the shows. I was still really excited from the Cyclone though!!

After a couple beers on the boardwalk, we went back to Larry's and ordered a pizza. The pizza was even better than Godfather's! Tasty Tip: Go for plain pizzas (cheese, pepperoni,..) when trying Brooklyn's pies. This allows you to enjoy the pizza itself because its delicious! According to Larry the best pizza in Brooklyn is Scotty's. Matt and I will be trying this soon...

Day Quatro:

Today, Matt and I went to the Livingston Mall in search of something to do. We bought nothing and looked at little. Pretty standard as far as malls go... We then went to eat at SeaFood (next door to Godfather's). I had the Veal Saltimbocca: Veal on a bed of broccoli rabe (green leafy veggie, a lot like spinach) covered in brown gravy (think creamier and lighter than KFC brown gravy) and melted mozzerella. It was yummy. I highly reccomend this unique blend of flavors. It was unlike anything else I've ever had. The rest of today I have been catching up on True Blood. You know, important stuff...

Look for more indepth and (hopefully) daily posts!
